Day's End by Sharon Repple acrylic 14 x 18
Workshop 26 revised! Thanks everyone for your great comments. Michael and Christine noticed the conflict between the foreground and sky so I re-stretched canvas and cut off about 4", made some changes and re Michael I took out some of the clouds that were leading the viewer out of the painting. I very pleased with the results but if you see something I missed, please let me know.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment Michael, Ann, Darya and Julia. Darya, looking back at my reference photos the reflection appears to be elongated and comes toward the viewer.  The sun could be more rounded but I was trying to loosely show the bright light.  Interesting observation, I wonder how other artist handle reflections of the sun. Let's ask Michael.

Sharon, what a beautiful painting! I love the way you rendered the clouds -- they are glowing. Just one small thing that I noticed: shouldn't the sun and its reflection be symmetrical? The reflection in the water seems to be slightly off. Otherwise -- a gorgeous piece!

Sharon I like this so much more ! The sapphire blue is nice with that saturated orange and the weight of the foreground is in better balance with the sky.

( = Sharon, I think it looks more unified now. Excellent! It really draws the eye in. And the sun peaking out from behind that cloud is great...really nice job!

This is stunning, Sharon!  I like it better than the other one, though they are both beautiful.  There is so much to look at & enjoy here.
