Thanks Nancy.  I shot the photo right after I crossed over the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, right by the Richmond Chevron refinery.  I had to pull over and photograph the fabulous patterns in the clouds.   Stu

Stu,this is really beautiful. It is as if I am there. I have seen skies just like this and wondered how I would paint them. Now I know!

Thanks Li.   After painting the four cloud studies from Richard's Hawaiian reference photos, I could not resist painting this from a photo that I took several days before.  We had a Pacific storm here the next day.   Stu

I like it as it is so realistic. The light effect makes it a beautiful  subtle image of early morning sunrise scene of a very cloudy day. You know the truth of that  beauty is in every where. You do not wait for a better condition of sky. So you paint a unique one. Happy for you. Li
