While location hunting I passed an old "Do Not Litter" sign. It had probably been there 25-30 years, But what really caught my eye was the wild flowers growing on top. I didn't have my camera so I parked across the road and quickly put the strokes down. The background was all naturally mundane. The great thing about plein air painting is expressing YOUR color. I have been reading the book " Capturing Radiant Color in Oils" by Susan Sarback. The technique she teaches is "Full Color Seeing"Sort of Like Richard teaches. This is a must for artists who do mostly studio work but would like to start painting in open air.
She is having a workshop soon in Clayton, N.C. and I'm looking forward to it.
I did apply the writing on sign in studio.
