9x12. It was painted while ago. I wasn't happy for some reason, so put away for a while. I like it better now so post it here to share.

Michael, you are so right. Thank you so much for the comment! I saw very strong sun light hit background trees and ground. I am not sure how to deal with this situation. I was afraid of if I made the background too bright that will compete with barn forcal point. I thought about use Richard's Workshop37 but didn't quite right.

Very good contrasts going on Laura!!  I like your variety of warm and cool tones throughout the painting ..and I love your textures!!!  Great use of complimentary color contrast with the purple shed roof against the yellow/greens of the grass ..it really makes the focal area stand out!!!  I think this is an excellent painting!  Here is something that I have mentioned to everyone before ..where the trail leads up to the top and goes behind the trees ..it is best not to just butt that light up against the dark and leave it ..it is better to continue that light between the trees.  Okay, everything else looks darn good!!

See the attached.  I colorized the photo of my still life drawing used GIMP to color the spray bottle red and background a blue green.  Based on the description of that day, the painting could leave a negative emotional memory.

Charles, Thank you so much for the photoshop information. I heard of the GIMP app but never tried it. I will download it and play around. Regarding the painting, I think it is too cool. I could make the little barn bigger in size, but it is the true size. I wasn't in a good mood that day. This is very remote place from my home(Sunnyvale). I was lost on the way to the place.  It took me two hours to get there. I was scared. When I got to the place I was very disappointed. So over all, I wasn't have good feeling with the painting, but I am ok with it.

I have recently downloaded GIMP2 a free photoshop-like app that I use to work on photos of paintings when I run into issues.  You can open a photo of a painting and using airbrush or brush icon and colors manipulate the photo to try various alternatives to help you analyze what to do to improve a painting.  For example you can lighten or darken an area or change the value of a color or change the color all together.  Neat app.  Took me a day or two to become effective with GIMP after watching a tutorial on Youtube, but easy to use once I got the hang of it.
