Dor, try priming your canvas panels with another coat or two of gesso or even with oil ground (Gamblin); it may be that the thirsty canvas panels are sucking up all the oil in your paint.  You can also take a store bought canvas panel and make it less absorbent by priming it with 50/50 mixture of Gamsol (OMS) and Galkyd (alkyd resin); these are both from Gamblin and I got this from Scott Gelately, Gamblin's product manager and an avid oil painter.  If you use Gamblin's oil ground you need to wait 5 or 6 days to paint on it.   With the Galkyd/Gamsol, you can paint on it in 24 hours, it just seals the panel.  You just paint it on thinnly and brush it into all the pores and leave it for at least 10 minutes and wipe off the excess.  Stu

Hi Jim

Thanks Jim.  I think  I paint better when I use Canvas Paper  primed with Gesso than  canvas panels.........go figure? Smiles coming your way.  : ))

What I would like to do when this is dry enough is darken the lighter blue clouds at the top.  And definitely make corrections on the right sky line and I think that red center cloud could be toned down a wee bit!

Montalvo I believe I could correct some things with a glaze  to tone it down in a few places! I am scared to after I had to put my good black and white one in the trash!

Roena we sure that fun!

Linda I love your discription!!!  Thanks all of you!  I know I haven't gotten around to everyone but I will!
