Boy, Terry, I've got to say that your painting is dynamite. It's done in a very loose style, yet it is really clear what it represents. I'd kill (almost) to figure out how to do that!

I also like this cropped image. My only suggestion would be the tree trunk could use some specific detail of texture which would read as tree trunk. If I had not studied the photo over and over myself, I wouldn't know what I was looking at was a tree. This is known as itness and this is missing in your foreground, with the tree trunk, grasses and fallen branches. I don't think it will take much to get this itness and on the whole it's a strong notan.
