Ditto Gregg's comment. A very dramatic piece and executed brilliantly.

Thanks to all of you. This was done before I discovered oils and was painting with charcoal. I had taken a drawing class and learned about subtracted charcoal, where the artist blackens the page, then lifts the highlights with the eraser. Shortly after, our Pastor's Daddy passed on to glory. My husband and I went to the celebration service and when I looked at the bulletin, the photo of Pastor BB so touched me...I knew right then that I would be painting it. The Holy Spirit is really the one who painted this one...the experience was incredible. This was finished within a week.

This is a classic. Outstanding use of light and shade. A very rewarding work to examine repeatedly. This work really conveys its mood in a compelling way. Excellent work. I look forward to your next contribution.
