I really like the way you painted the trees in this one.  Not too detailed, but really getting the feel of the trees and the different colors. Very nice!

Nice work Helena! I like the cool colors in the mid-ground mountain shadow. your water is nice, but I would steer clear of running that river out of the corner. My eyes were led right out of the painting instead of in it:) Overall, a great job!

cheers

Thank you Paolo! me too!! I also have just exaggerate green and blue! Often lack the warmth of red in the works, but gradually we knew it! Your work is very good!

Paolo, most artists have trouble with greens--try muting them with dull yellows and oranges (yellow ochre, burnt sienna, tranparent earth red, etc) and use plenty of variegation of your colors with warms against cools and other surrounding colors drawn in.  Also put some green into your blue skies and water so they don't clash with the greens and leave out pure reds (use orange-reds instead) for better color harmony.  Stu

Really nice Helena! I love how you rendered the trees, they have nice colour variations, I always have problems with green stuff:(

helena - i agree with stu - a good strong painting..nice design...i would add one tiny suggestion..as we follow the stream back into the painting, we are drawn to the little bush...and it seems to be set right smack bad in the middle of the canvas...picky, i know...otherwise, i really like this!
