Thankyou for your thoughts Lori and Li. I have learnt so much from these workshops and have so much more to learn. It is nice to hear what other members think about workshop paintings. I have been so motivated by all the comments and critiques that I want to improve more and more as I am sure almost everyone feels the same. So much beautiful work being presented, Richard has been well rewarded!!

I have same feelings with  Laura about your painting. It is peaceful, no hash,worry-free and relaxing. Simple but well detailed. Very good job!

Nice, calming colors..love that little bird:)) I'd pull the horizon down just a little so it's not even with the bottom of that roof..you have a nice solid pier..I had such a hard time with that!

Thankyou Jess. It looks a bit flat to me, I think it may be the acrylics?

Thanks Betsy for your comments, I agree with your views on the shadows beneath the pier. I really struggled with so many aspects of this challenge! The computer does take away a lot of the true colours of the paintings.

Nice job! I like the boats, the water and especially that cute bird! The people are good ands solid, too. You might want to pump up the contrast in the front building. The colors (especially reds) are nice, but perhaps a few touches of light above and some more shadow beneath the pier? It's hard for me to say, since I am having so many of my own problems right now...It could be my computer screen, too, however. Things always look different on the monitor than they do in reality.
