I like the darks that surround your fruit and set them down with nice shadows. Great job !
Thanks, Xiao Li. I think you are right about the background. Stu
Stu, very nicly done!!! Just one suggusting. I think if you darken the background a little, the wine and fruits would pop up more.
Very nice stu. Not really nowing Bonnards still lifes if find that it is somewhat reminiscent of cezannes earlier still lifes with the seemlingly dark outlines and the nice dark pockets. Everything seems to have a nice sold feel as well. The background is interesting also and gives nice added dimenson.
Thanks Dor and Li. Painting this in less than 24 hours made it easier not to overwork it. Stu
Finally ! Stuart, this is a very interesting work. I notice that you have some new idea about your color decision. Very fresh and vivid colours and powerful contrast . And I am amazed by your bold brush strokes, so impressive. I also enjoy your reflections on the cup and bottle, simplifed but beautiful and very realistic. Like Stephanie, I Like the way you paint the apples. The shadow of the bottle properly contrast and support the composition. You have made a very modern design . Very good work.
Good work Stu......smiles to you dor:))
Thanks Stephanie. The glass is a little asymmetric, but I was too far along to fix it when I saw it. I kind of rushed through it because I have been busy and did not get going on it until the last minute. Stu
