Thank you Patricia and Annie,  these are just small studys, 6 by 6 each.  I am not sure how to apply to a larger painting yet.  One of my weakness (I have so many) is color. I normallyl just copy whatever colors that shown on the photo and don't know how to vary it. I remember in Workshop 3, I changed the color of the sky but did not know what color to use for the rest of the painting.  I ended up with a very dark and muddy painting.  The good thing about this Gamut Mask Tool is that now I don't have to think what color to use anymore.  I just ask myself, I have these three colors, where should I put it.  I think this will make it easier and more controlable to do a larger painting.

Hi Xiao These are beautiful little studies You are obviously a well organised artist.

Xiao, I like the way you have presented your value and gamut study on one piece of canvas.  An excellent idea!

I like the second one on the top right hand side the best, it has the better contrast of value in the vertical foreground and also a very nice aerial perspective.  Well done!!

Hi, Aurelia, Denise and Dorian.  Thank you very much for your comments.

To copy the Gamut Mask, first I find the design I like and then just use the Print Screen button on the top of the key board to copy the whole screen and past it on Paint, then crop out the part I want and save it. when I finish the whole painting, I use Powerpoint program that comes with Microsoft office, to put all pictures together, then use Print Screen and crop again to make a nice small file of the combined picture.  It is easy and no special program required.

I think I like both three color combinations.  They give different feelings to the view.

Spectacular work!  Great job.  I like the one with the purple best.  Now that I see how you did it, I am going to try and do it myself...........smiles to you  dor:))

I agree these are great. Which did you like the best? I find myself doing these Analogous with Complimentary Accents all the time, so I like this bottom right one but this may be me falling into a usual pattern.

Wow!  Good job!  I love your studies.  How did you copy the Gamut Mask on your assignment or did you print it out and then photograph it?
