Very nice work Xiao!
Hi Silvana, the cad yellow would come close to primary, but for this painting, I think your cad yellow light is fine to use. ....or use them both!
Hi, Xioa!
This painting is almost spot on to Richard's. The only difference is that YOUR personality is in it and not his---which is how it should be. Very nice work. I hope to get to mine next week, but I am nervous about being able to paint something as nice as this is! Good job! Wow!
Thanks Xiao! I was wondering how to replace that Pyrrole red... thought of using the Cad red light, But I think I will use the one you have! I was also wondering what the Primary yellow was like.... I just have Cad yellow and Cad yellow light...
Hi Michael, Normally I am not very good on tracing back what color I have used, because I kind of mixing color whenever I see fit, but for this workshop, I did use limited palette. I don't have pyrrole red light as Richard's demo so I used Vermilion instead as my red. On the light side of the rock, I used yellow orchre, a little bit of vermilion and a little bit of cadmium yellow and white. On the dark side of the rock, I cheated. I can't get the warm grey as dark as I wanted, so I used dioxazine purple plus my darkest warm grey to get the rich warm dark as I saw in Richard's video. Hope this helps.
Hi Li, May I ask what was your mixture for the foreground rocks shadow and light. I cannot seem to get mine as rich and warm as yours with this limited palette? ....Only if you have the time ....Thanks.
Thank you Ann and Catherine for the encouraging comments.
Beautiful Li ! I am drawn to the warm foreground rocks they have lovely colors in the shadows.
Thank you Michael and Laura. I am glad you like it.
