Hi Silvana

Great painting!

I share Michaels view and would add ...to give that sense of depth....adjust the foreground fir trees to to the left which could be a little darker. Once this is done then the the rocks may need to be balanced. An excellent way to know if any picture has depth is to hold your hand in a tight fist with a very small pin hole at the back. if you place your eye tightly against your hand, letting no light in, and slowly go over the picture you will suddenly see depth ( bear in mind your eye may need to adjust for a minute or two.) After you have scanned the painting you can see what works and what doesn't!! Hope this helps .

Thank you Michael! You are certainly an excellent teacher!!!!!!! I thank you so much! My first decent painting on mountains.... Hereabouts, my family says the mountain has a Big nose....! Do you think it bothers so much?

I just saw this Silvana ......!!  ...very excellent!!  You have a warmer painting then mine, but that is OKAY!!  because you made everything else warm!!!!  ...so that created a dominance ...and that is what your want!!   I see you re arranged the left conifers ....good!!!  I love the rhythm of your conifers in shadow ..like musical notes!!.  You kept within your established "key" by not making anything lighter or darker then what you established as your perimeter.   That is not easy to do and I must continually check myself  on that when painting.  Your rocks in the foreground are nicely varied in shape and size.  Does everyone see how her snow at the focal point is kept prominent and important by making it brighter and warmer then the other snow patterns.  Your eye is drawn there, not to the secondary snow patterns!!.  Wow, so good...congratulations!

Have been in the area of Bariloche only but have a cousin who is a tour guide in Patagonia, so may get out there some day!  Look forward to seeing your future painting of the Fitz Roy!  Looks like you're really ready for the challenge!

Thanks SO much Zibeth! It IS hard work though!

About the photos, they are not mine. I have found them on the web, even if I know the places, I cannot tell you that they have no copyright!
