Oil on canvas board

Managed to get in this last one for this workshop and I've just seen Richard's painting for Workshop 7 so I must've been psychic putting that orange in there...it's a little too central so I clearly sacrificed composition to the gods of freedom and speed.

Casey, Dania and Barbara, thank you.
I really like your painterly brushwork on this piece.
Wow, whats not to like ? Nice cohesive balance. It has what Richard talked about in Workshop 7 demo of having something yellow, orange, red. Love the intensity of the light and the thinness of the paint on the left side.
It's wonderful.
Thank you all for the great comments, reassurances, suggestions and Likes! Very much appreciated : )
Hello Dee
You are on a roll! This is awesome. Competition is good for everyone. Smiles................dor:))
Fabulous, Dee! Great warm and cool interplay. Your "centered" orange is OK because when you really look at it, your eye moves around from the red grapes to the yellow pear and back to the orange, so the real focal point is to the top and left of center. I think overall that it is a very nice and balanced composition; and I will bet, without trying it first, that a B&W value study will look just fine. I am going to really have to pump up my efforts next workshop after seeing this! Stu
Dee nicely done, once again! Your brushwork really gives this a lot of interest and variety. I like very much the way you have let the under painting show through on the left side. The eye path into the center and focal area of saturated and reflected like of the orange and warm glow of the pear makes for a very powerful composition. I see nothing wrong in the centering of an object when there is so much interest to move the eye around. Lots of variety and interest in all quadrants spirally in and movement out, you've made this look simple but it's not, this is mastery showing through!
Oooh, ahhh, I LOVE that glowing light!!! Excuse me if I use that in my next one.
Great job!
