Deb, you are busy, busy. Our next challenge on this site is a stir lif e composition with a pear, some grapes and a pitcher. I think I can do better this time. I painted a bunch of still life's for practice when I first got back into oils from acrylics about 12 years ago and I still like them, so they must have been pretty good. Actually, since I live right by the biggest wine growing are in the US, I shouldn't get better at grapes without too much pain. And since everybody in the rest of the US refers to California as "the land of fruits and nuts", I should really focus on still life painting for awhile. When Li Ningning was stressing over painting grapes, I suggested she take a look at your work, since I like it so much. Nice to hear from you. Stu

Stu, actually cropped out a very small portion of this painting and used it for the mailer promo. Have been painting but haven't posted. Guess I should! :) Trying to complete the designs for 2 new restaurant menus and have been working on an April art crawl too.

Hey, thanks, I love your paintings too.  Have fun at the wine dinner.  And post some new stuff so I can see more paintings that I love!  Stu

Hi Deb

I was reading and saw that Stuart Gourlay was talking about your painting grapes.  I just had to come see.  They look like I could reach up and pick them. You are a wonderful artist.

Hey Deb, ya- The Okanagan is vineyard country and orchards. Great wine here..lots of gold medals. I have yet to paint some vines! Isee deer are a pain there, thats a drag. Have a great Christmas!

Thank you, Sousahne. I Googled Okanagan and it does sound lovely. Is that near you? Here is humble North Carolina we have had new vineyards popping up everywhere for the last several years. Our son has a restaurant where I have been blessed to sell my paintings in the cafe gallery. They have a wine dinner coming up soon, I hope. The tyrrany of the urgent is his biggest enemy in setting dates.

I have admired your fish in the past. Some big owl or hawk just ate all the fish out of my neighbor's pool. I know he was sad. Here in Charlotte we have way too much wild life in the city. I cannot even grow a garden any more because of the deer that are living here. It is a little ridiculous! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks you, Stuart. Acrylics are more difficult for me than oils but I have them! I feather and layer lots! Thanks also for your encouragement.
