Inspired by Richards gray day boat painting, I found this subject that I probably wouldnt have painted if I hadn´t seen his video. It has been overcast here for almost every day of the last month and a half, so I have no choice but to paint in overcast conditions.

Thanks for the explanation behind this painting. I know what a challenge it is to paint with little sunshine. Our class went out painting in the rain one Saturday (it is usually sunny here in Hawaii). I find this painting has a rustic simplicity that I enjoy. It is also enhanced by the fact that I was painting boats down by the Honolulu piers last weekend and I think your boat turned out better than mine.
