Hi, Jim - interesting comment - to talk about the 'art' rather than the technicalities - I guess it's just a study (it's small) and the scen really attracted me - thanks!
I keep looking at this one, Jon. Something about it that works really well for me -- maybe the contrasts or maybe the shapes, or both. But, I really like it. It is serious and a little bit playful at the same time.
Hi, Manneherrin - glad you're getting the vibe!
oh I love it! Including the graffitti! I can tell it was a bright and shiny day
Hi, Michael - absolutely - the shadows are too cold - they were fine (warmer) and painted thinly - so I decided to paint them thicker? why!, why!? silly thing to do!
Aurelia - yep no organic forms though! - avoiding diffculty?!
Again, lovely painting. I like how you linked the shadows. You have interesting shapes. I also like how you simplified the painting.
Jon, there is no such thing as wrong color ... only wrong value and wrong temperature.
Michael - yes - very strong!
Hi, Joy - thanks - oups, you're tright ( need to square of the shadows (and they are the wrong color too!) - ta!
Love the feel of the strong light, Jon .... you really nailed that nicely.
