9x12 Oil on canvas board
I enjoyed attempting to grey the back ground, and painting a sailboat. I had to keep it simple and not add the other boats. I did do the drawing as the first step of the values. Lots going on in this workshop. Critiques and comments are welcome.

Thanks Michael. I see now that my boat appears to be sitting on the water, and not floating in it. I guess I should try to paint more of the water around the bottom of it so it will appear to be floating. Funny how these things come to light after the work.

Hi Sherry,  I agree with Ann and Silvana ..I love your simplification of this complex scene.  Very good to read that you did the preliminary stuff before painting ...that was part of the lesson I think Richard was trying to get us to do.  BTW, great job on your greys.
