Cape Willoughby lighthouse, Kangarilla.
acrylic on canvas 16"x20"
This is a half hour demonstration painting from a workshop I did today. It is based on a drawing by one of the workshop participants. It still needs a little tweeking, but overall I was quite pleased with it

Thank you Michael. Had a lot of fun painting this one and it came together quite quickly and easily. It happens sometimes. Helps when you have a good reference too. One of the participants in the workshop had such a beautiful style of drawing - simple , powerful compositions. I wanted to show him how to translate his drawings into paint.

Richard, great painting ..has a lot of feeling and mood.  A very nice use of primary color scheme!  This has the emotional impact of E. Hopper painting!! ...I have been siting here for the past 10 minutes really enjoying the feeling Richard ....great job. :))
