Looks great Michael. I love your foreground rocks. You made them interesting with a great mix of colours.  Ro x

Good job...and done already! You've made the scene yours, love your playing with the original composition as well as really hitting and using all your grays throughout, I agree it feels like a very moody, dreamscape.

Lori - Thanks so much. I thought this one had got lost in the past. Yeah, it is very dreamscape-ish. I tend to do that. Not sure why.

Reid - I wish I could say I've been painting for quite a while. But. I can't really. I've come back to it after decades away. I did some quick acrylics over the last year or so, but mostly things I painted in under an hour in a pressurized setting. This is new for me. Planning, taking time, I'm loving it.

At the same time as I say that, you will improve in leaps and bound as you apply yourself. You have the talent. Just trust yourself, get in there and paint. I look forward to seeing more of your work and encouraging you on the journey.

And thank you for your incredibly encouraging comment. You made my day!

Catherine - Acrylics can be so... painful! Drying so fast, almost impossible to blend. When I got back into oils after decades away, (very very recently) I was delighted with the ability to blend the colours and the fact that I could go back in the next day and carry on where I left off. What bliss! The grassland was the direct result of that freedom.

I look forward to seeing your acrylic. Hot and dry as it may be!

Michael, I was looking for something else when I stumbled upon this painting. I LOVE IT! Just like it is. Even the grey sky/mist in the bg. Tell me you've been painting for quite a while, please. I own a store (home decor) and have seen hundreds of paintings come and go over the years. This is as good as any I've seen in the catalogs. So cool.

Yes but im feeling a little intimidated..did one, but it turned out yuck. I am going to try a second attempt, and hopefully that will turn out better. I paint in acrylics and its been super hot and dry here so its a little more challenging keeping my palatte wet and blending my colours. Tonights the night i try again.

Catherine, hi - thanks for the kind comment. It was fun to paint. Felt very expressive, and a pleasure to work with oil in the mix like Richard does. Are you taking part in the workshop?
