Beautiful image. When I disfocus my eyes to look at it, it is very realistic. I think that It is because the colour value are very nicely applied .

Thank you Jim Michael and Christine for those nice words. My day with Richard concentrated on helping me to "loosen up" and improve brushwork - now to put it all into practice! I do enjoy this site - the photos, the comments and the friendship but haven't been able to participate much lately with so many other things happening here - am looking forward to more time next month.

Thank you Jessica. Yes it was a nice present - Richard is great company and a very patient and generous teacher. Late springtime in NZ at the moment - a lovely time of the year.

This is my first oil painting after using only acrylics. A whole new learning experience! Painted from a photo I took from my granddaughters house in Kawaka Northland NZ - not far from Richard Robinson at Ruakura. I was lucky enough to have a lesson with Richard - a birthday gift from my husband Brian. A very special day at Waipu Cove.
Here's hoping he's been able to teach an old dog new tricks!
