Hi Sandra.  Could you possibly post another photo? ...it is difficult to judge colors and values with all the extraneous stuff around it.

The shade on right was tricky. I'm not sure how to deal with it...Otis too blue and I wasn't sure whether to do a deep green, or a dark grey green etc. and there is empty space there..could add a few more boats..something but I did try to simplify and crop, just not enough. I may try one of the other photos and see what happens.

By crop, you mean take out the space on the right side? I tried to do that but probably not enough. It is looking a little loopy now that I look at it again. I tried using bolder colors but they look a bit too bold and I'm not happy with the brushstrokes. I'm not sure how to make the brush work more deliberately. I also think I need to tone down the background to make it recede more. It's too warm and bright. Suggestions on any of these problems?

I agree Sandra.  This looks like a great painting.  Suggest you take the photo straight on to the painting ..if you cannot crop, then fill the viewfinder ...

Hi Sandra I like the colour and I think I like the composition , but the photo bends my brain , you are in need of a program to crop photos like I am looking for!

Thanks Craig
