Hi Sarah. Very nice. Good composition, drawing, color, and edges. I would like to suggest a few things for you to consider: Shadows that are not influenced by the sky (like the alcove) are usually warm. The cool shadows on the street are cool because of the sky influence. I am "guilty" of this: try not to paint the color, but paint the light ..for instance: you have a women in a pink top and yellow umbrella.....in which you have painted the local color of each ..but not what the light is doing to them. So, try punching a strong highlight on the left side of the umbrella ..(it is partially in the sunlight). Splash a much brighter and warmer stroke of sunlight color on the road. The figure in the foreground should be darker (like the figure on her left). Then punch in some highlighted rim lighting. Last thing: Everyone seems to be doing this ..your sky is too dark ..make it much, much lighter AND warmer. Your painting will then sparkle!!!
Wonderful happy Paintig.
