Hope this is an improvement. Thanks to Ann Turner's terrific critique, this is the result. Isn't this a great workshop?

gorgeous painting Nancy. Love the limited palette.
Missed the first one .Computer out of action for nearly 2 whole days!
Nice title, Nancy. There's a real lot of nice paintings being done here just now!
Looking good ! The background stays in the back now and makes a nice stage for the old tree. Congratulations
Good morning Nancy. I would leave it alone ....file that info for your next painting. :)
I did not see your painting before Nance ..sorry. I will look for it and compare the two. I love how you handled the branches coming toward us and away from us ..really gives the tree dimension. When painting a stream that is reflecting the blue of the sky, try underpainting it first with a warm, dark transparent tone, then scumble the blue on top ..leaving some of the dark warm tones exposed ..do this for the stream in the foreground only ..as it recedes into the distance, loose the strong, bright blue, and use a grayer color with a value almost that of the surrounding land ....make it almost disappear into the land....that makes it very soft and pushes the river into the far distance ..it will relate with everything else in that far distant hazy atmosphere.
