Hey Christine ..wonderful nocturne!!! .....When I saw the thumbnail, I thought someone had copied a Whistler painting ..nice job.  This would be cool ... how about taking the point of a script or rigger and put in some points of light sparkling away  ..jewel like with their sparkle and reflections on the water.   I use the point of a knife for that kind of stuff.  If you actually do that, make sure you have warm and cool lights but with a dominance of one of them ..some well placed town lights and you will stand back and be amazed what it will do to your painting!! :))
