There definitely must be a glitch in the system - it shows there's only been 1 view and I can't "like" it either - not that I would normally do that but I was just testing! Anyway thank you Michael, Betsy, Olivia and Linda for trying to like it! Michael thank you for your comments - they mean a lot. The technique for the foliage - apply the paint using an old synthetic flat brush where the bristles have separated - it takes a bit of practice and trying out different old brushes. I used a fan brush for the fine poplar tree leaves. I attended a workshop with Tim Wilson, Artist (you may like to look up his website http://www.timwilsonart.com) who taught me this technique. Quite different to Richard's technique but both brilliant artists.

I'm hitting the like button, too, but to no avail on any painting this morning. I like the light on ghis. Interesting effect on the foliage. Did you fan out your bristles and press into the canvas? I'd like to know how you created that effect!

Wow Fay, this is great!! ..I LOVE it!!! Did you use a wipe out technique on the foliage? ...I like the gradation in your sky, and the clouds continue where the road leaves off. Your light flows over the whole scene ..there is a term for that and I will need to look it up ....Very, very nice painting. Really looking forward to seeing other comments!!! BTW, I love the way you handled the "clues" that show depth ..:)
