Hmm, Michael gave me some tips.Been out in the hot sun again! I'm going to make the sky a darker purplish color and inject orange and red bits into the foreground, I think....

Hi Jon, I think you did a great job with this. Thank you for removing that funky tree in front !Other things that I like are the variegated sky the perspective of the house, purples to counter the varied greens of bushes and the broken color in the dark shadows on porch and eves, and the little window that peek out from behind the cyprus.  When you fix the shadow on the tree put a little broken color in it also so it will join the party !

Lovely painting Jon.  I like your sky and think some orange in the foreground foliage will look good, but just a little bit.

Jon, this looks doggone good!!:) ....you do have one humongous mistake that MUST be taken care of.  Your light is coming from the upper right ...but your tall, thin blue green tree shows the light coming from behind us.  Now I realize that the photo shows the sun high above us ..but ...in your painting you have moved it (whether inadvertently or by design) to the upper right ?  The photo is too flat light, I like your painted version a lot better!
