Wonderful place, wonderful painting!
I'm impressed with the control you have with watercolor ! Great use of contrast to give your work a punch. You should think about placing the church off center as suggested on the 1/3 line, would increase the drama.
This is Lake Bled, in Slovenia. A small Central European Country, which became independent from Yugoslavia in 1991. It is a beautiful country. Its landscapes are incredible!
Ive dreampt of this place...where is this?
Jen,this is great! Have you been to that church? My origins are Slovenian, and I have been there some time ago... there is avery nice legend on Bled church`s Bell, and whoever makes it ring, his wishes will come true. I wanted sth, I wished from the depth of my soul, and believe it or not, my wish came true....
With your panting, you made me remember what has happened about 15 years ago! :)
This looks lovely, Jen. You might think of offsetting the church spire from the center with your larger piece. The red of the rooftops draws one's eye strongly, and moving the composition off-center will lessen the bulls-eye feeling it has now.
Great interpretation. The basis of a lovely watercolour.
