Jon, you did this on your last posting and I did not comment on it .. but you did it again, so now I am compelled to make a comment. You need to have a transition value between your foreground and background. Your last painting and this one, has a foreground that slams right into a background ...with not middle ground. It is too much of a jump, my friend. That middle ground field on the right ....way, way too much of a value jump ..creating the illusion as being on the same plane as the distant city ..which it is not.
