Thank you so much Dorian, Ruby and Ann. This was just a quick last minute effort. I'm so glad you like it.

Nancy, this is a beautiful piece. The value, the colour hue, contrast and temperature, the shape, and the brush strokes, all very good. I wish that I can do it someday.  Only one thing, Nancy, how did you photo it. it is a little bit blurry. I put mine on the floor when it was a cloudy day and I got a chair and put my arms on the back of the chair and held my breath when I press the button. Another way, I did is during the day time in the room with natural light. I got a tripot to support the camera. I let my painting stand there aganst the wall. Or in the evening, only turn on the ceiling light with tripot.Stuart's photos are very good. I will aske him how he did it. Nancy, Your painting is wonderful!!!

Nancy, post this for JV's critique on WetCanvas Live. You really did a good job with your rocks; none of your shapes are cloned, and your color harmony is excellent. Stu

Now why wouldn't I think that you would know the scientific name for those things???? You made me laugh out loud. Thanks, I needed that. :-)

"Orkney" is what my iPad spelling corrector made from "work". I said "nice work Nancy". Goofy, huh? Stu

Thank you Stu. Is that what those gorgeous monuments are called? I have never heard that. By the way, I saw your sunny snow scene in Jo's workshop yesterday. He really spent a lot of time with it. I learned a great deal from his critique. I couldn't figure out how to upload my painting which is just as well since it was awful.

Barbara, thank you for your kind words. I found this photo from one of our trips to Arizona and decided that it might work for this workshop. It was just a quickie.
