I love that you didn't cheat on the color of his face. He could be my Dad. I just did a portrait of him and his complexion is exactly as this one, very pink with stark blue eyes. I wanted to not see that much pink in his skin, but it would have been incorrect. This is such a beautiful piece. I can feel his wisdom and the detail is perfect. My son lives in Perth. I was there last year and had a real hard time leaving. Just as you, all had a sweet smile and happiness you don't see as much anymore here in the states.

There is something in this man's expression that is so alive. Besides the technical skill that is shown here, you have imbued the portrait with the man's emotional life and energy.
