Oil on linen, 12 x 18 inches
I am working on a couple of paintings for a group exhibition in the end of August. The theme is the ocean, fishing and blue, otherwise it is pretty open to interpretation.
I am trying to keep the paint and brushwork loos and spontatious. Also to suggest detail instead of rendering every single thing in the painting.

Simple is always best . Lovely composition and tonal qualities
Thank you Jim and Jon :)
Jim, your comments are always very uplifting and encouraging. Thank you for that.
Very few artists can take simple scenes like this one and create something so interesting and elegant. But, your style and vision turn these scenes into great art. I would certainly love to have your artistic skills, but equally, I would love to have your vision.
Fabulous composition! - has real impact
Thank you Michael.
Yes my main thoughts for this painting were design, color and texture. Always when I have broad flat areas like in this on I try to make it more interesting with lots of texture and variation in color and edges. I think I could have gone even a little further with that idea. This photograph however doesnt do justice. There is some really thick paint there and subtle color variations that dont come through in this image.
Yes I was a bit sceptical that the color scheme would work, but it did in my opinion, so I wasnt to tempted to add to it.
Fantastic Andri ! I assume your concept is about "Texture"? ...if it is, then you really "nailed" it!!! Nice primary color scheme ..well handled. I bet you really had to "fight" yourself not to stray from your color scheme and add a green or orange!!! ....I would have been sooooooooo tempted ....
