It is very impressive for your second oil painting! It really doesn't look like you just started! I love how the field fades away in the distance

As for sketching outdoors, it is something I enjoy doing during the summers when I go downtown :)

Timothy, I wish I could sketch as well as you do to improve my paintings.  This was my second oil painting and my teacher recommended I take a sketching class because we did several corrections on the stance and proportions of the figure.  So I took a sketching class which makes me appreciate the detail, proportions, and values in your sketches.  I like pumpkins and carve lots of them every Halloween.
