I like this painting Sharon. Like Micheal said, if you squint your eyes it is easier to see the different tones.

Thank you Michael and Silvana, I've got a rose on the easel now and it seems to be harder to paint.  Maybe it is all of the small petals compared to the large petals of the magnolia catching the light.
