Your values, overlapping, edges, and size relationships give the illusion of depth .. I think your goal was met.  You have a nice harmony of cool tones giving the painting a moody feeling .. your warm yellow greens in the foreground trees are out of sync with the harmony of your painting.  Try using cooler greens for your sunlit parts .. incorporate some of the violets you used in the atmosphere into the trees.  also, be careful of oddities ... like that tallest tree in the foreground ..
