A nice technique for transitioning the colors around the sun: Start with a small circle of white + a tiny bit of yellow (or thalo green), around that circle, paint another circle but use a warmer yellow, then another circle with more warmer yellow .go as far as you want with that ...then take a soft brush and blend them together. Same thing with the water, only use vertical strokes and then blend horizontally.
