I decided to darken the sky top left, also darken left side tree a little, thought it would create a balance with large tree. lightened sky above old hotel, also lightened wall to right of path....

I love the effect you have created here!  The loose handling of the glass building in the background, combined with the dark clouds creates an almost other-worldly effect.  super job on your foliage too.  There's a really nice mood to this piece.

Pauline it does feel more balanced and the darkened sky lends a sense of drama. The part of the building that we can see is beautiful and intriguing, I think we are frustrated that the tree is hiding it when we would like to see more. Good luck with the painting it is special
