Oil on canvas 20x20cm. I was trying to portray the morning glow in the harbor with its broken color casting to and from.
I hope I succeeded. I had a problem with my canvas as it wanted to soak up the oil.

You speak of pearly light which you have shown, and that means cold to me.  Have never spoken with anyone from Iceland before.  It is an awesome honor to have Richard critque your painting and I congratulate you on your painting getting his attention.  I am as happy about it as you are.  Smiles coming you way............

Hi Olivia, thank you so much for your kind comment, the truth is that we get this lovely pearly light here in the north.

And thank you for advising me on the dry canvas, I have never tried linsee before, does it take a while to dry?

Very atmospheric. You really captured an early morning feeling.

Coating canvas with thin layer of linseed oil can help.  Give a wipe with rag so that there isnt too much.

Thank you very much for your comment Sharon, maybe the canvas was not so bad after all!

What I like about this is the size of the boat and the placement.  Works great!  Lots of broken color all over.
