Dorian, thank you so much for your interest, I have just uploaded the new, corrected painting.  Hope it found its way into the right place at the right time!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and encouragement.  I have warmed up the red on the gondola in my painting but was out of time so haven't been able to post the new photo here. Good luck all and thank you again.

Thank you Michael for your comment and for taking the time to view my painting. I linked in to your website and saw your beautiful paintings, fantastic work.  It is already end of day in NZ so I don't think I have time to change anything on my gondola for the competition but shall add some warmth to my picture.

Hi Isabel, Admired your misty effect and thought your gondola nicely drawn. You commented about my well secured gondola. Very peceptive as I am a sailor and was very worried about Richard's lack of a stern rope !

Wonderful work Isabel!! Love the mood!!

Hi Isabel.  I see you decided to go a little more subdued on the color ...a different mood, for sure.   You might want to use a more warm red on the tip of the gondola ..it is sunlight striking that part ..and the sunlight is warm.
