Morning Mist - 8" x 9-1/2" - Pastel on Wallis Paper

Experimenting with a pastel and alcohol underpainting to see if it would assist in creating a misty feel to the piece.

Beautiful, I love this!  I have worked in pastel, and am familiar with underpainting, but am not familiar with a pastel and alcohol underpainting.  I'll have to read about that.  I am curious, do you have academic training?

I have always wanted to try pastels....there are things you can do with them that you can't with paint.  So beautiful and free....
