Went on a hike at this lovely spot with my youngest son - he wanted to take photos of the sunset & I did some plein aire painting - this is done at home in my studio afterwards, as I wasn't too pleased with what I did there!
20 cm x 30 cm, oil

Ningning, thank you very much for your keen observations & suggestions, which were right on! As you noticed, Michael suggested the same thing about the ripples & it made a big difference. I have almost finished a larger version of this. Glad your husband liked it too!
Oh, now I see the retouched one. Jessica, it is excellent now. I showed it to my husband he said" Oh, Wow, so good, beautiful." I also read others comments about it. Happy for you, Jessica.
Thank you, Michael, I will go to look for it.
Hi Ningning. Jessica already did a revision of this that was quite beautiful ..check it out ..it is posted somewhere here. :))
Beautiful!!! One observation, the big reflections on the right side of the river are very well done. But if you cross them with those fine and small ribbles you did on the left side of the river in a very subtle way, it will be more intereting. now, the reflections keep themself above the river. Horizantal lines can put them into the water, depress them so that the whole painting can show off more. Lol. I can only talk to you like this without afrad that you misunderstand me. Any way, This is not a simple job , you have to consider a lot of relationships among all the elements and you did a very good job. Congratulations.
Thanks for the nice comment, Susan!
Awesome!
Thank you Silvana & Thomas!
Beautiful Jessica!!!!
