BTW..I found that you can wipe off and go over areas to clean up colors...if you do pastels, keep wiping them on a paper towel so they don't drag in other colors & make mud!! That was the biggest lesson learned here for me..something I will try to remember in the oils workshop...wipe that brush!!!! Lol thx for your comments Jim:)

You've done a terrific job of keeping your colors clean.  (... something I struggle with because I'm a blithering dabbler.) What did you use to create the light blue on the left side?

Thanks very much for all the very nice comments!! I'm hoping they'll enjoy the drawing! It was a good learning experience for me.. I don't use pastel often but wanted something that wouldn't take months to dry!! I'm happy with it, and again, appreciate the helpful advise from my friends here:)

Ann, you are so right; Lori's frosting is extra eye delight. Starting late in life, I fell in love with oil and have stayed there. Picked them up some years ago when my sister-in-law visited...although I love the vibrancy, the immediacy, and the tactile experience, I just didn't enjoy the dust or residual mess...I'm just too messy a painter in the first place. I much admire those who pursue other media in their painting. And to me, painting, is painting, is painting. :))

Carolyn, This friend of Lori was asked to look for areas that could be changed to make it more appealing. I think the slight revision is just the frosting on the cake of a well done pastel. Happy painting or pasteling :)
