Oil on primed paper, 6x8”. What a journey! I always wanted to paint the nodding violets I have in hanging baskets around my house and always the same issue, I could not separate the flowers when I painted them in a cluster (colour saturation problem and brush strokes, now I know). So I thought with this 30 painting in 30 days will be the best to try it again, quick and easy.
Therefore, I started out with the colour in mind.
[It took me two days, because in the first day I ended up nowhere. Then I remembered Jane’s “Majestic trees” with those masterful brush strokes and Richard’s words: “put a stroke down and leave it”. I tried to do that and emulate those strokes. They are a bit timid and childlike attempts but it worked (at least I think it did) and again I was able to lose the details, to which I can go back any time].
I ended up in brush stroke study.
I am open for comments. I need them desperately.
