Hi Susan.  When you say that you "Still did not get it quite right" .. I was curious to know what you thought you did not get "right".

Thank you, Elizabeth, Laura, Michael, Linda and Eibhlin! Micheal, I agree I should keep the interior of the shed cool, thanks for your input. The hardest thing for me was not putting too much detail on the cat, I wanted so much to give him eyes and whiskers! I tried very hard to keep all the background stuff close in value and not to much detail, as for the truck itself, I drew it on graph paper a few times (also a suggestion of Michael's) and then I tried it on canvas (3 different times on 3 different canvases)--I still didn't get it quite right; but on the whole I'm happy. I'll probably still try to do the painting again, maybe a different composition. Thanks again to all!

Susan, you put a lot of personality into this painting! It's wonderful and fun to look at. I wouldn't change a thing!

Wonderful work Susan!!!   Answering you question about warming the interior of the shed ...no ..I do not think so.  Any warmth being reflected into it would be occurring at the bottom  (from the warm light of the ground), but in this case, the blue truck is hiding that part ..so the cool reflections from the truck are bouncing up into the shed.  Anyway, you have the beams a little warmer gray ..so that is enough?

It is very well done Susan!

I know trucks are really not women's idea of a paintable object. But have done a real good job. The color of the truck and the light coming in is great.

Thanks, Montalvo and Ruby! I'm going to work on the tires, my elipses are not what they should be and that front grill on the truck needs help. I'm also thinking of warming up the interior of the shed so it sets off the truck more. Any suggestions are welcome!
