Thank you everyone...Michael especially, thank you as I can see what you are saying about the blue pot being flat. It is a bit darker in reality as opposed to this photo but I am going to adjust the values as you described. This is actually a fence in our yard not the house and it was so brightly lit that I can see how you would think it was the house. It is actually a grey wooden fence. I so appreciate the critique as it is the best way to improve your work!

Hi Jeri.  This is really a beautiful, sun filled painting!!   You really sense the bright light by your careful use of values and color.  I love your gradation of value on the grass and house and how the light fades the colors of the house and  grass. ....all this is giving the painting luminosity!!  This is all set up by your contrast of the orange pot, which is painted in rich hues, darker values, and contrasting color.  If that orange pot were painted in the light values of the blue pot, then this painting would not have had the impact it does.  Having said that, I am not quite sure about the values you have chosen for the blue pot.  As it is now, it is part of the background house and does not come forward like the orange pot.  Also, due to the lack of values on the blue pot, it looks flat.  Look at all those great values you achieved on the orange pot!!! ... Suggestions for the blue pot ..a few more values to describe form ..especially dark values,  and lesson the chroma by mixing some of the orange pot color into the blue.  The orange pot will really pop out if you put a dark shadow on the blue pot .next to the orange pot and grass .....a good opportunity for a lost edge.  Just one more thing, clean up that little bit of smudgy area where the bottom of the orange pot meets the ground shadow. ....
