thanks guys...actually i have lots of photos from paint outs at the indianapolis zoo.  they hold a fund-raiser each summer and i've donated paintings of lions, penguins and giraffes.  lots of fun!..actually the lions were so lazy...as far from the "king of the jungle" as you can get...and in a strange way, this guy reminds me of our two golden retrievers...

He's great.  The splashes of blue really set his features off well.  Was this from a photo reference or a sketch ;you made?   Stu

The warm light makes him look content. He's a regal fellow like he's waiting for dinner. Very nice
