After 3 attempts at what I thought would be small easy paintings that lead to frustration, I decided to just play with my palette knife and fingers. It's nice not to have to clean brushes!

Thanks for the comments!  I've decided to relax and play more often.  It's so easy to get tight! Michael, I did add that shadow, and I like it.  Thanks!

Great painting Britt....full of creative energy, color, and abstraction.   I like the way you opened up the trees with the dark just behind the house ....your specks of underpainting are sparkling ..good technique on that.    The one thing that I would suggest is to show a direction of sunlight  by putting a shadow under . umm, .lets see ....the left eave ...that would indicate a light direction (important) and also give a little more interest to the large white area of the facade.   I realize there probably was no shadow, so make it up. :)

Hi Britt, good energy in this one. Congratulation on having the courage to step out of the box and having fun with it. I especially like the tree area that is readable as trees but still abstract.
