Oil on linen panel 9" by 16" plein air. Painted in about 1/2 hour in Frank Serrano workshop with Michael Severin and Laura Xu. The peak is White Mountain in the range just east of the Sierra's painted with the alpenglow just after the sun went below the Sierras. This color lasts about 15 minutes and the shadows and foreground are painted in first with the color added to the mountain last. A real challenge to get the color and light just right.

Stuart, Happy for you that you can have so much fun by painting together Michael and Laura. Looking forward to seeing more your beautiful works.
Wow, I love this one, Stuart,
Thanks Wanda. This was fun to paint and the spot is beautiful. We painted near the same spot the first morning of the workshop and the instructor drove around for about 15 minutes earlier that evening to get us the best place to paint this view.
Thanks Silvana.
Great Stu! The colour is super!
Thanks Ann. I was happy with this one, because I did it exactly like Frank Serrano told us to and it came out with the bright light we were seeing there. Sometimes painting faster works real well; it did this time.
What a great challenge to get this color down in such a limited time. You should title it Rosie Glow
