Acrylic on canvas 16x20 , I hope to attempt this again and resist the urge to dab with the small brush!!! Acrylic has been difficult new medium for me, are oils easier???

Me too! I work in acrylic, and it has it's challenges.
I also really like the atmosphere and how you are looking down at the water
I really like the perspective of the painting. Somehow it elevates you to such incredible heights and I feel like I'm either sitting in a helicopter or just flying in the air. This is the stuff of dreams
Brrrr! It looks cold! :-)
Thanks, Judy. Nice to know we are neighbors, and I appreciate your comments. Barb
THANKS BARBARA, YOU DID A NICE JOB WITH WS3, I LIKE THE WARM FOREGROUND CLIFF, I THOUGHT THE LEFT FOREGROUND WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF THE COMPOSITION, I OVERWORKED IT A BIT! I SEE YOU ARE A NEIGHBOR FROM TUSCON........I AM IN DURANGO CO, LOVE YOUR PART OF THE COUNTRY, WE VISIT EVERY SPRING JUDY
Judy, Love this painting. I love the atmosphere and original style. I have seen scenes like this many times from a small plane and will never tire of them. Very beautiful. Barb
Thanks Jane, I will give the oils a try.
I started with acrylics before switching to oils. I like oils better. I have a friend here who uses the water based (sp.) oils. He paints en plein air most of the time and usually in oils. But he took the water based ones on his last painting vacation and loves them. He liked not having to find a supplier for medium after the plane ride. The colors look the same as his regular oil paintings.
I would love some advice on acrylic vs oils, or water based oils.. Anyone tried both??? I am a watercolor only artist......Richards stlyle ( LOVE IT ) of teaching seems to favor oils or acrylic, I am giving it a go!!!!
