Thank you for your great comment Sharon. No unfortunately I didn't paint it plein air. It was taken from one of my photos when we visited the Kimberley region in Western Australia a couple of years ago. This region is right across the other side of Australia from where we live, so a very long way away. But my very favourite place to visit when we go traveling. Plein Air is something that I have yet to tackle - but I'm going to try it on our next trip in June.
Wow, this is one of my favorites of yours. Did you do it plein-airre?
Thank you Michael. I very much appreciate your comments. When we visit this part of Australia it is always in the Winter time which is the dry season in the Kimberley and these boab trees have no leaves, just like this. I have never been there in the Summer because usually it's just too wet and often flooded everywhere. So I have never seen these trees with leaves on them.
Wow, what a lovely painting and what expressive trees - well done, Colleen!
Love all of you too, Merry Christmas !
Ann is very philosophical, a thinker. I love her comments as same as her beautiful work.
Thank you Ann. Very good analogy. These trees are often painted as 'characters' due to their unique shape.
Very best wishes of the season to you.
They remind me of an old married couple that have lived a lifetime together and are now looking into their sunset years
So beautiful !! I love the way you handle the colour and details. your light effect is very subtle and impressive.
